2023 Tata Tiago Icing Detailed Review

2023 Tata Tiago Icing review

In the wake of rising fuel costs, most customers are shifting towards CNG and electric vehicles. While electric cars are not the norm for many consumers, CNG is an easily accessible, cost-effective option.

Furthermore, the 2023 Tata Tiago Icing is the latest manufacturer to unveil the Tiago and Tigor pair with CNG as the engine.

We recently had an opportunity to experience a test drive on the green hatchback, and we have some convincing reasons to consider it.

First Impressions & Design of 2023 Tata Tiago Icing

The 2023 Tata Tiago Icing is a good design car, and the one we received for testing was in Midnight Plum paint. It looks clean and simple – it’s an incredibly small hatchback that is well-suited to drive through the narrow streets of your neighborhood.

The car’s piano-black grille is adorned with chrome inserts. It also has LED DRLs and projector headlamps on the top trim of XZ+.

The Tiago’s interiors are a black and beige hue. The car is equipped with 14-inch alloy wheels that make it appear premium.

The cabin comes with a 7-inch floating infotainment unit with auto AC and a Harman Music system. It’s pretty cool and comfortable to be sitting in the car.

It comes with connectivity features such as Android Auto and Apple Car Play (to connect via USB), which are useful when you need to find your location using the Maps app.

The car comes with a CNG button to switch between petrol and CNG and vice versa. The digital instrument cluster in the 2023 Tata Tiago Icing has dual fuel gauges to monitor the fuel levels in the Petrol tank and CNG Cylinder.

2023 Tata Tiago Icing Exterior

The 2023 Tata Tiago Icing in the form is known it be in existence since it was given a mid-life makeover in 2022.

Due to the introducing of the new BS6 standards, diesel engines of small capacity have been wiped out, and the Tiago also has lost its diesel power source.

Its introduction as a CNG version of the Tiago will provide buyers with an alternative to the petrol-powered Tiago.

While it’s always a sleek design with a sleek appearance, the CNG forwards the same design features but with a few small changes.

The new model also comes with LED DRLs mounted close to the fog lamps on the front bumper. You can also have projector headlamps.

Additionally, you get the I-CNG badge at the rear, which helps differentiate it from other models. It also comes with a new color option called Midnight Plum, which Tata Motors named Midnight Plum.

Apart from that, the paint does not change the appearance of the interior of the 2023 Tata Tiago Icing.

The 2023 Tata Tiago Icing is an appealing car to gaze at. It is interesting to note that this Tiago only comes with steel wheels that measure 14 inches. There’s no choice of alloy wheels. However, the wheel caps are nice and are easily confused with alloys.

2023 Tata Tiago Icing Space and Interior

The 2023 Tata Tiago Icing cabin has an identical design to other models as part of the Tata Motors lineup. The new design features the beige and black layout of the dashboard and an entirely new style for the seat’s upholstery.

The digital instrument cluster, which is easy to read, can now be read to show the CNG level. CNG level.

The instrument also features an indicator that informs you that you are operating in CNG mode.

You can switch to petrol mode, and the indicator will go off. The information is presented straightforwardly and is simple to read and comprehend.

In addition to these improvements in the cabin, the 2023 Tata Tiago Icing is the same and features a 7-inch touchscreen information unit that dominates the middle of the dashboard.

It comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-speaker Harman audio system.

It also has automatic climate control, the glove compartment is cooled, and other features remain from the standard petrol version.

Its Tiago car’s cabin after its redesign in 2023 has been a pleasant experience, particularly for a car in this class.

The overall space is decent, with comfy seats and lots of bins to put your things in. There isn’t much space, however, in the boot, which is completely taken up by the CNG tank and the cradle that keeps it in the right position.

Even though it’s integrated well, the boot space has been reduced to 80 liters instead of 242.

The spare compartment is located beneath the tank, and it is difficult to access this through the narrow gap between the tank and the boot lid, which is a problem and would be better easily accessible when you fold the seats in your rear back.

Fuel Economy and CNG Range of 2023 Tata Tiago Icing

Based on our mileage test, we found that the 2023 Tata Tiago Icing gave us an average fuel efficiency of 20 km/kg when driving in mixed conditions.

That’s around 3.28 – 3.28/kilometer according to the current CNG cost for Jaipur, Rajasthan (Rs 65.75).

You can expect to see more mileage on the highways. Overall, the 10kg CNG tank will provide the full range of 160 and 260 km. But, temperatures and the pressure of the pump could affect the range.

Space and Comfort of 2023 Tata Tiago Icing

The auto AC system keeps you cool in the car. The car is large, even small for a hatchback.

The seats are well-designed and offer a clear view from the driver. There are numerous adjustments for the seat available to the driver.

The rear seats are great, too, for a small family. The only downside to CNG is that you’ll get more mileage (pocket comfortable); however, it has less storage capacity and accessibility.

Apart from the boot space problem, CNG has more advantages than drawbacks.
