TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP First Ride Review – Fun and Performance!

The TVS NTorq 125 Race XP is the only 125cc scooter in India with greater than 10PS power. The BS4 TVS NTorq was a peppy scooter when it was launched.

The upgraded BS6 TVS retained the NTorq’s output figures and gave it a gentler power delivery, and the result was an enjoyable ride without any grunting sound.

TVS has introduced the NTorq Race XP, which has the spirit of the original with an output of 10.2hp, which is amazing! What makes it the best performance-oriented scooter? Read further to know the answer!

    TVS Ntorq 125 Design

    TVS Ntorq 125

The Race XP has got its bodywork from all other NTorq variants with extra features like the LED headlight from Race. The bright paint scheme and relevant graphics boasts the XP apart.

Flashy stickers, snazzy red wheels and a red engine cooling fan are the highlighted features! If you do not like the colours, you cannot ride this because this is the only colour option.

    TVS Ntorq 125 Features

The NTorq already has many good features. TVS has added Bluetooth connectivity, which helps you with the Voice Assist function. When you connect your phone with Bluetooth and start your engine, the scooter will listen to you.

Using a wired or wireless headset, you can give voice commands to the scooter to perform various tasks like going to the nearest fuel pump, adjusting the display’s brightness, and changing the riding modes.

The two riding modes are street and race. The street mode balances between performance and fuel efficiency. The race mode focuses on acceleration and efficiency. The NTorq gives you an under-seat LED light, an external fuel filter, and a USB charging slot.

    TVS Ntorq 125 Performance

When you twist the throttle, you will start enjoying the performance and the fun. The Race XP is quicker than the BS6 version but not quite as active as the original BS4. The crisp throttle response will certainly help you to fill the gaps in traffic quickly.

If you keep the throttle pinned, you will get a reasonable highway speed at a decent period of time. The engine RPM is high, but nearly no vibrations would be felt.

When the scooter is idle, the NTorq’s engine feels gruff. The throttle response is smooth in race mode, and you can leave it there all the time, except when you are particular about fuel efficiency.

In street mode, the fuel efficiency is 46.45kpl in the city. This is not so satisfactory but is better than many 125cc rivals, including the standard Ntorq. On the highway, you would get a 55.06kpl

TVS Ntorq 125 Ride And Handling

TVS has reduced about 2kg of the weight of Race XP compared to other scooters. The Race XP shares its underpinnings with other NTorq variants with disc brakes.

The NTorq is one of the top best-handling scooters. It can be started effortlessly. When leaned over, gives you a confident and sure-footed feeling on well-paved surfaces. It gets a little unsettled while encountering bumps.

The NTorq has chunky tyres and 12-inch wheels. Braking performance is excellent, and the most powerful front disc brakes result in the shortest stopping distances.

    Verdict

It is reasonably priced and has many admirable features and performance levels. It gives you a lot of enjoyment and the spirit. It has a balance between comfort and sportiness.

  • TVS Jupiter 125 Review 2021 – Scooter For Your Family!

TVS Jupiter 125 Review 2021 – Scooter For Your Family!

TVS has launched the new better and higher CC model scooter branded as Jupiter 125. The Jupiter 125 is a complete family scooter for India which can challenge Suzuki Access 125. How is the TVS Jupiter 125 different in design, engine, chassis and performance? Let us find out in this TVS Jupiter 125 review!

TVS Jupiter 125 Review- Design And Style

The Jupiter 125 looks different from its standard 110cc counterpart and has a new design with crafted metal for all the body panels. It looks ultra modern from the front view. The all-LED headlamp and the LED DRLs have been seated over the turn indicators. The side panels have some bright stripes that go till the rear section with big grabrail. There are some new alloy wheels and chrome finished bits that give the Jupiter an uplifted look. The 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels add to the desirability quotient of this new scooter of TVS.

    TVS Jupiter 125 Review 2021

The floorboard of the scooter is wide enough to accommodate a gas cylinder which all the middle class people of India will do. Another important change is that the fuel tank is fitted beneath the floorboard. There is no need to worry about it because it is made of metal and also the whole body of the scooter is made of metal except the panels under the floorboard. This has made the Jupiter 125 to have more under seat storage space. The 33-litre compartment can easily hold two full-size helmets. This space can be used to carry your groceries from shop to home. Additionally, two luggage hooks are also provided.

The TVS Jupiter 125 has an all-in-one key slot. The left twist opens the underseat storage. If you press and twist the key towards the right in off position, external fuel fill lid in the front pops out. The Jupiter 125 is the only scooter that offers fuel fill provision at the front. There is a USB charger with a 2-litre glovebox to keep your phone, wallet, sunglasses and a 1 L water bottle.

The instrument cluster is very informative. The digital-analog cluster displays average fuel efficiency, clock, indicators for helmet reminder, three tripmeters (Trip A, B and F), engine malfunction, engine malfunction, Eco/Power and low fuel. Other than the digital fuel gauge, the cockpit also shows distance to empty range.

TVS Jupiter 125 Engine Specifications And Performance

This family scooter has a 124.8cc, two-valve engine that gives 8.18 hp of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. The intelliGO tech facilitates noiseless electric start and only the engine sound will be heard when you start the vehicle. The automatic start-stop function enables the scooter to shut down automatically if the scooter is idle for few seconds, at areas like a traffic signal which saves fuel. Press the rear brake and blip the throttle to start the scooter. If you do not want to use this function, the start-stop mechanism can be turned off using the switch on the right side.

The scooter easily reaches speeds up to 60-70 kmph as the engine has a strong low and mid-range. The biggest advantage is that the engine gives high refinement and smoothness throughout the rev range. The top-end is a bit weak but this is not an issue since you do not ride a family scooter often nearing the rev limiter. The TVS Jupiter 125 can achieve a top speed of 90 kmph. The readout shows best mileage of about 62 kmph (75 kmpl).

TVS Jupiter 125 Chassis, Suspension And Brakes

The chassis of the Jupiter 125 is very new. The Jupiter has the telescopic fork which gives 77mm of travel. The 3-step adjustable canister charged monoshock takes care of the rear very well. Stopping power comes from 220mm disc up front with the 130mm drum at the rear.

TVS Jupiter 125 – Riding Experience

The suspension is not very stiff but you can get a comfortable quality of ride. As straight-line stability is good, there is no deviation from the line around corners. The grip from the tyres is satisfactory and you can drive with confidence even at speeds of around 65 kmph. Taking U-turns and switching directions also is comfortable.

The seat height of the Jupiter 125 is same as standard 110cc model at 765mm but the kerb weight has increased up to 2 kg with that little extra power output. The seat of TVS Jupiter 125 is wide enough to hold two average-sized adults with some empty space. There is decent cushioning and so you can spend even more than a couple of hours on the saddle.

    TVS Jupiter 125 –Verdict

If you would like to buy 125cc scooter that is fully satisfactory for a family ride and offers comfortable and a decent ride quality with a refined engine, then the TVS Jupiter 125 is the scooter for your family. The Jupiter 125 is not a replacement for smaller Jupiter 110 but the fact is that both will co-exist. Even though there is no Bluetooth connectivity on the Jupiter 125, it is priced at Rs. 73,400. It is less expensive than the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.

    TVS Jupiter 125 Specifications
    Dimensions (L x W x H) 1852 x 681 x 1168
    Engine displacement 125cc
    Transmission: Automatic
    Maximum Power (ps): 9
    Fuel Tank Capacity: 6

    TVS Jupiter Price

    Rs 73,400 – Rs 81,300 (Ex-Showroom)

Are you a family man who prefers a peaceful ride for your family? The TVS Jupiter 125 is the best vehicle for you!

TVS Apache RR310 Review -Very Close To Be A Race Bike

Young racers always have been admiring the RTR but now, TVS has something that would perfectly shine on a track. It is the new 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 Review.

    TVS Apache RR310 Review

TVS started with a little moped which crossed 100 km/h in the 80s and now in 2021, TVS has launched the most challenging motorsport today, the 2021 TVS Apache RR310. Back in 2017, RR310 was launched to attract the RTR fans’, the sporty commuters, by presenting a sports motorcycle that could be rode on a track!

With every model of RR310, TVS introduced an upgrade that transformed in to improved performance. The first model had many vibrations and so was added with a slip and assist clutch. The BS6 version gave better refinement and a longer feature list. Now, there is an option for suspension tuning that makes if fit for a track ride.

RR310s are best for championships. They have custom exhaust and the suspension set-up is tweaked. TVS now offers this ease of adjusting the suspension with the 2021 model. A 20-step adjustment is available for compression and rebound damping on KYB forks with 15mm of preload adjustment and 20-step adjustment for rear shock.

There is a tremendous difference in how the motorcycle responds on the track. With an experience of riding a bike with standard suspension setup, when riding a bike that is tweaked for track back-to-back, I could easily feel the difference. Do you know the reason why a race bike has a stiff suspension? That is because the suspension not only compresses while braking or cornering or just absorbs undulations while riding the bike on the street but it also pushes the wheel back to the tarmac instantly in order to maintain traction and speed. This is the point you realize that the rebound adjustment is helpful. A soft suspension would give you a very late response.

    TVS Apache RR 310

The RR310, now has a race-fit suspension and so definitely is agile. So it assures a sharper response at corners and has minimal or no dive while braking. Even with no tweaks to the powertrain, it would be able to clock quicker lap times. This is offered in the Dynamic kit and the Race kit which offers race ergonomics along with handlebars and footpegs to create more committed riding stance. The RR310 is now just very close to become the race machine and would surely qualify to be so. We can surely expect such upgrades from TVS for the RR in the near future.

    2021 TVS Apache RR310 specifications:

    • TVS Apache RR310 Engine – 312.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled
    • *Power :
25.8 PS at 7,600 rpm (Urban and Rain mode)

25 Nm at 6,700 rpm (Urban and Rain mode)
27.3 Nm at 7,700 rpm (Sport and Track mode)
      *Six-speed transmission
      Throttle by wire
      Slip & assist clutch
      *Brakes:

      *Seat height – 810 mm
      *Kerb weight – 174 kg
      *Fuel tank – 11 litres
*5″ TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity
      – turn-by-turn navigation
      – phone notifications, etc.

New Features of 2021 TVS Apache RR310 model

The Dynamic manages the adjustable suspension. The Race kit give you a sportier riding position. The TFT instrument cluster has a Digi Doc to store vehicle documents and Dynamic Rev Limiter. You can choose accessories for your race colours as you like and also you can add a racing number of your choice on the front.

TVS has offered a ‘Build To Order’ platform with which you can customise your motorcycle on a web configurator or an app called TVS Arrive. If you do not like. you can also buy a standard bike which is same as before. The engine gives you a punch in the middle of the rev band with 34 hp and 27 Nm. The brakes are spot on. The 2021 model really just has a lot of choices for a bike lover. The on-track performance is really impressive but I really wonder if a normal street rider requires an option to firm up the suspension.

Price of 2021 TVS Apache RR310
The kits really increase the prices.

The base price is now Rs 2,59,990 (ex-showroom). If you want to prepare it for the track, you should spend Rs 17,000 more. The Dynamic kit costs Rs 12,000 and Race kit costs Rs 5,000. To add racing colours, you should spend Rs 4,500 for Race Replica graphics and Rs 1,500 for red alloy wheels. These kits are available even for the older models – 2017 and later, if the customer would like it.

If you have a passion to become a motorcycle racer, then 2021 TVS Apache RR310 is the perfect choice for you. Go ahead and make it yours!
