The 2023 Crown debuts with a pair of conventional hybrid powertrains, despite rumours of a plug-in hybrid and an EV version.

What's New

By the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023, we anticipate the Crown to go on sale.

Engine

Toyota's latest hybrid system, the Hybrid Max, combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle to produce 340 horsepower overall.

Performance

A 2.5-liter four-cylinder and three electric motors are used in the 236-hp hybrid system that comes standard on the XLE and Limited models.

Fuel Economy

The more potent Hybrid Max powertrain in the Platinum model is said to achieve about 28 mpg.

Interior

In particular if they purchase a Limited or Platinum model, drivers who trade in their Avalon sedans are in for an upgrade.

Infotainment

All models come standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that runs Toyota's most recent and significantly improved software interface.
